Kraków is one of Poland’s key road, railway, and air hubs. The international Kraków Airport is the country’s second in terms of both size and number of passengers. Two major roads run through or in the close vicinity of Kraków: the north-south national road no. 7, and a section of the European road E40 (the A4 motorway). The city has a convenient train line to Warsaw, and is close to other significant cities in this part of Europe: Berlin, Lviv, Prague, Budapest or Vienna.

How to get to Kraków?

By Plane

Kraków Airport is situated approx. 12 km west of the city centre and it has regular flight connections to numerous European destinations, as well as Chicago and Tel Aviv.
When you arrive at Kraków Airport, you can easily reach the city centre by:
Train - The new Kraków Airport train station is located near the passenger terminal, at the rear of the multi-storey car park. Travelling by train is the fastest way to get from the airport to the city center (the journey takes about 17 minutes). All trains also have spaces for disabled passengers and persons with reduced mobility (PRM).  Please check the current timetable here. The adult fare (‘normal’) is approx. 12 zloty/ 3 euros. Tickets can be purchased from ticket machines (passenger terminal, train station) or from a train conductor once on board.
Bus - Kraków Airport is served by two regular bus lines: 208 and 252 and one night line: 902. Bus line 208 connects the Airport with the city centre (it stops right next to the Main Train Station). Night bus line 902 operates between 11 pm and 4 am and it stops in the city centre next to the Main Train Station. Single adult ticket (‘normal’) is approx. 4,6 zloty /1 euro. Taxi - Kraków Airport Taxi is the only official taxi service at Kraków Airport. It can be booked online or by phone. More details can be found here. The fee is flat (regardless of time, day or duration) and it costs approx. 70 - 90 zloty / 17 - 22 euros to get to the city centre.

By Bus

The biggest Bus Station is situated at Bosacka Street, next to the Main Train Station. Popular international connections to/from Kraków are: Berlin, Budapest, Prague, Vienna. The current timetable and available connections can be found here.

By Train

The biggest railway station in Kraków is the Main Train Station . It is situated close to the Old Town. Kraków has direct railway connections with Poland’s largest cities as well as with Berlin, Budapest, Grodno, Lviv, Prague and Vienna.
There are fast train connections with Warsaw (the capital city) every 1 - 2 hours. The trains are modern, comfortable and the journey takes just over 2 hours. The connections are operated by PKP Intercity . Tickets can be bought online here. The prices vary from 60 to 150 zloty/15 - 38 euros.

By Car

The easiest way to reach Kraków by car is to take the A4 motorway. The motorway toll rate varies depending on the size of the vehicle and the section of the route (approx. 15 - 20 zloty / 5 euros per section). Please bear in mind that there are parking meters in the city centre and it might be difficult to find a parking space once you get there.
